NLP can help improve relationshops with your customers

HOW would you like to be able to change the mood and opinions of your colleagues and customers?

According to Dave Laing, trainer at Envision Training Partners, there are techniques that can help you achieve this, chief among them being Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).

Based in Skelmersdale, Lancashire, the company offers a range of courses geared specifically for business-to-business use.

These include NLP training in sales, management, negotiation and customer service.

Mr Laing said: “NLP is the art of changing other people by changing yourself. Using NLP we can show companies new ways of improving communication.”

Affective Business Coaching also uses NLP techniques in its team awareness training courses, where, according to Darren Stevens, they like to emphasise the individual’s role in teamwork.

He said: “The emphasis on teamwork has shifted the focus away from the individual, which has led to a lack of recognition.

“We encourage individuals to think about their contribution to the team and to the business, and their colleague’s contributions, then consider what would happen if they entered their colleague’s model of the world.

"This allows companies to reform their teams with a new perspective, which individuals can contribute to more effectively.”

While NLP has been widely embraced, it’s still an unregulated industry, so choosing a good NLP trainer is vital.

The NLP Practitioners Association can independently assess and verify that a practitioner’s training and certification is up to standard.
