FOOTBALLMOTHERWELL TIE ON TV
Mark McGhee Saturday September 6,2008 MOTHERWELL’S first European adventure in 13 years will be screened live on the BBC.
Mark McGhee’s side face French side Nancy in the first round of the UEFA Cup.
And both legs will be live on BBC television and radio as well as online.
The first leg clash at the Marcel Picot stadium will be on BBC 2 Scotland on September 18. Kick-off is at 6pm.
While the return match at Fir Park will be shown on BBC 1 on October 2, with the game starting at 7.45pm.
A BBC spokesman last night said: "We are delighted to have won the rights to both games.
"It is the start of Motherwell’s European adventure and will excite the armchair fans."
Motherwell’s last game on foreign soil ended in an away goal defeat.
They were beaten by Finnish club My-Pa 47 in UEFA Cup qualifying in 1995, despite winning the second leg 2-0.
